Dear Parents, Students, and Friends of the BA community:

Welcome to the month of December!  December is a very busy month of service and activities here at the Academy.  I hope that in the midst of all of this busy activity that we can also take time to prepare for the way of the Lord in our lives.  In our daily morning prayer at homeroom, the entire community will take time to reflect on the Word of God and the simple prayers of Advent as we listen to God's voice in the silence of our hearts.  Please know that we will be praying for you as well - thank you to all who so generously support the mission and beliefs of Benedictine Academy and the young women whom we serve.

As I have shared with the students during homeroom, we want to make "December a season to remember."  The NHS students will be providing service through its annual Giving Tree event.  Students can pick up an ornament from the tree and purchase a clothing gift that will benefit clients from the Elizabeth Coalition for the Homeless in Elizabeth.

We are all very excited about the student performance of Christmas Para Todos on the weekend of December 18 &19.  Performances begin at 7:00 pm.  Please come out and support our talented Theatre students under the direction of Liz McConahay. 

Basketball is also heating up with our annual Dr. Rose Battaglia Christmas Tournament from December 26-December 29. 

Finally, parents of juniors and sophomores will soon be receiving your daughter's PSAT scores.  Please review the scores carefully and encourage your daughters to work hard in their classes.  Senior parents should give that final note of encouragement to your daughters as they submit their applications for colleges.
