The Benedictine Academy Endowment Fund

Did you know that BA alumnae are responsible for helping the school’s Endowment Fund grow immensely! The Endowment Fund was established in 1998 with the $50,000 bequest of Alice Shedd Hinman '32. The Fund was tripled later that same year by a BA graduate’s anonymous $100,000 contribution. An ongoing initiative during 2005 in celebration of the school’s 90th Anniversary brought an additional challenge gift of $50,000 to the Endowment. Once again, many alumnae, along with students, staff, faculty and friends, successfully met that challenge and the Fund grew significantly.
Another challenge gift of $100,000 was made in 2007 when the fund reached $600,000. Pledges and gifts to the Endowment Fund currently exceed $700,000.

We hope to attract more donors to this perpetual fund in coming years. A gift made to the Endowment is a tangible expression of support for the future of Benedictine Academy. Donors intend their gifts to remain as principal to generate earnings for the school in perpetuity. Income from endowment funds may be used to support tuition assistance or to fund professional staff development.
