Campus Ministry Groupscampus ministry groups

Blue Angels:  These are students who are dedicated to praying the Rosary for peace in our world, the needs of the local community and our school's families.  They strongly believe in the power of prayer.  In addition to making rosaries for our troops overseas, they visit the elderly and the sick, cook for the homeless, and collect goods for the poor.

Sisters on a Mission (F.A.M.I.L.Y.):  Our Senior Campus Ministry students, known as the F.A.M.I.L.Y.,  lead the Spirituality of the Academy and also serve as Peer Mentors to the incoming Freshmen students.  In addition to being the Wisdom figures of the school to underclassmen, they design and lead daily prayer, prayer services, and liturgical services.  Members of the F.A.M.I.L.Y.  take an active role in Service Leadership Opportunities. These students are truly Sisters on a Mission giving witness to the Lord by  serving the needs of the community.

Peace & Justice Club:  This is a committed Service Leadership Club consisting of a core group of Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors. They are serious about being the change in the world and have undergone extensive leadership training (mind, body & spirit).  The students participated in workshops and team-building seminars at Kean University, Frost Valley, St. Walburga Monastery Spirituality Center, and Mantolokin.  Their mission is to "think globally" and "act locally" in responding to the needs of the local communities.  Their plan is fully underway to work closely with the Elizabeth Coalition for the Homeless.

Gospel Choir:  All students are invited to participate in giving praise to the Lord through the harmonic blending of their voices.  Our Gospel Choir sings at all liturgies, prayer services and various school celebrations. This past year, three of our graduating Senior Students recorded their own CD's at VIP Recording Studio in Kenilworth.  Tune in to hear the lovely voice of Ericka Davis,'08 giving praise to "That Beautiful Name of Jesus" on the blog.

Praise Dancers:  Our Praise Dancers give thanks and praise to God through their sacred dance at our school community worship gatherings. This is a student led club consisting of Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors and Senior Students.  All students of every faith are invited to participate.  We are blessed, year after year, to have such gifted students share their talents in praising the Lord.

O'Ambassador Club:  The O Ambassador Program is a joint venture between Free the Children and Oprah's Angel Network. All students are welcomed to join in learning about the Global Millennium Goals and in determining how we, as a school, can respond to the needs of our brothers and sisters.  In the school year 2008-2009, our O'Ambassador students made a short documentary to educate the community on the dangers of human trafficking.  This documentary can be viewed by clicking on the Links Page under the Teacher Web Page of Sr. Donna Jo Repetti or Mrs. Michalski, the Club Moderators and Campus Ministers.  Last year, the students successfully raised over $13,000 to build a school and clean water system in the Sierra Leone, the poorest of the poor in Africa.  We believe together we can and will make a difference.

Earth Angels   As good stewards, these students are interested in caring for  the envrionment.  Recycling, caretaking of the earth, and "BA going green" are a few of their envrionmental concerns. These are dedicated students who have come together to make a significant difference in their environment.  Last year, they worked together with the City of Elizabeth to have waste cans installed around the perimeter of the premises and at the local bus stop.

Good Grief Club:   By demand, a six-week support group for Senior Students. It is a wonderful group designed to provide healing for significant losses in our students' lives, as well as to assist students in preparing for the transition from high school to college in a healthy, positive way.
