The prevailing policy of the Board of Education in the locality where each student resides determines whether or not transportation reimbursement is provided.
If a local Board of Education provides transportation to its local public school for students who live over 2.5 miles from the school, the town is required to provide transportation for students who go out of their district to attend a private school. If a local Board of Education does not have enough students going out of district to fill a bus, they may instead provide reimbursement for transportation.
Each local Board of Education is permitted to evaluate annually how they will provide transportation for out of district students.
Limited Private Busing is provided by Benedictine Academy. As noted above, certain local Boards of Education will reimburse for student transportation. For more information, please contact Mrs. Rodrigues at (908)-352-0670 x 103.
